Reviews This show was the second OAR show I had attended, the first being in November of 2004 at Wake Forest. The opening band was ok, but I don't think they were as strong as Ben Lee. The setlist was definitely not as strong as the previous show I had attended. I also did not appreciate the tease at the end with the beginning of "Missing Pieces", and then just going straight into the sax solo (although the solo was extremely impressive). But the crowd was pretty into it, despite the obnoxious drunks in front of my friends and I. All in all, it was ok. -mickeybiscuit February 25, 2006
this was one of the best o.a.r shows that i have been to. yall were amazing. keep it up and hope to see you back in charlotte very soon.
you guys fucking rock -gbsaine February 26, 2006
I really enjoyed the show i saw them last year in cary north carolina i was disappointed jerry wasnt there so that really took away from the show and we where up front with alot of bass on the left so acoustic guitars where low in volume. i thought i'd give them another chancethough and at this show they really out did themselfs. the venue sounded great, they sounded great it was a really cool show. i enjoyed seeing jerry playing the guitar i though that was pretty cool. great set list. i enjoyed the opening band the exit guitar player used alot of delay effects so that was cool. i hope to see o.a.r. in charlotte again. -j0nt0th February 26, 2006
Good concert. Ovens was a nice venue and the band had really great acoustics, better than any other time I have heard them. The band stayed away from the new stuff for the most part and played their old songs, which was a good call and they really rocked. The crowd was pretty into it as well. The devil's intro to Crazy Game of Poker is still pretty awesome, and finishing with the sax solo from Missing Pieces is always a classic. While not as good as the concert I saw at Merriweather in Maryland last summer, they still rocked for the charlotte crowd. -uncfan20888 February 26, 2006
This was my 12th O.A.R. show and they sounded great as usual. Out of all the shows I have seen them play, I have to say that I enjoyed this show the least for a couple of reasons. First, I got really annoyed with people throwing glow sticks onto the stage throughout the show. Secondly, it took about 30 minutes to get a beer so I would miss 2-3 songs every time I went and on top of that they stopped serving at 9:00pm. Nonetheless I enjoyed the music as always but the shows just aren't the same as they use to be when they were playing the smaller venues back in Ohio. -bgsugrad1 February 27, 2006
it was very good. i think they were going to play a couple more songs but something happened to mark's amp, thats why they cut poker a little early and only played part of missing pieces. -rolla February 28, 2006
This was my very first show!!! I'm hooked and I'll never look back. Absolutely unreal. Loved every minute of it. Only draw backs were the opening band kinda sucked but hey, it's an opening band so... Also, I think they were having some sound issues in a few songs because I could see Micheal or Marc jamming out but not hear. I also could've been on another plane of existence because I totally missed the tamborine ninja! What's up with that! That's what I get for closing my eyes and enjoying the music :) -hikerchick June 6, 2006
