Downloads Tell Me Stories 4.0 MB Tragedy in Waiting 5.4 MB Reviews My first show, I can just say awesome, they played every song i wanted to hear. I just wish the show was longer. -addict December 30, 2004 Unbelievable! The greatest concert I have ever been to. I had chills pretty much the entire time... Are they gonna make a cd or dvd out of these shows? -aeagle006 December 30, 2004 simply beautiful!! -Bb0o3 December 30, 2004 Awesome show! Best I've seen them at 9:30, almost tops Wolf Trap. They played every song I wanted to hear and as always, had so much energy it was unbelievable. Seeing Jerry on vocals was a trip too. -lionofzion December 30, 2004 9:30 Night 1 Review Venue: It's been said plenty of times before - the fabulous 9:30 is the bestest of the best. Word around town is that the club got a new sound system, but we couldn't tell as it's always sounded crystal to us. It's a personal bias, but the shows at the hometown venue are always just a little bit better than anywhere else. Opener: There was none! And it rocked! Nothing like skipping foreplay and getting straight to the O(.A.R., that is). Crowd: The crowd was typical of a good O.A.R. crowd. Enthused, but not rough (only 3 crowdsurfers the whole night). Though it may be somewhat masochistic, we both miss the early '01 9:30 crowds that left you a little bit bruised and a little bit battered, but you couldn't find a more lively group. Music: You really can't go wrong with a 2 hour 40 min. 22 song set. The night had a really pleasant loose, feel-good vibe to it that gave rise to such goodies as a KOTT opener, new song-age galore, and did we mention the 22 song setlist? Some notables/commentary: One Shot: has been reworked into a way groovier ditty. Though it's probably still a work in progress, this song has come leaps and bounds from it's debut a month ago. Tragedy In Waiting: Is it wrong to say that it's a tragedy how this song has evolved? Okay, that may be a bit of an overstatement (but not really). The catchy hook is still there, but the great chorus is not. It's not as interesting nor as powerful a song as it once was. In our shared opinion, the changes have made the song more bland. We are not fans of the new lyrics which are just a bit too earnest to really strike the heart, if that makes sense. The whole "sometime's we fall.../but then we stand tall" is too reminiscent of orphan Annie's "The Sun'll Come Out Tomorrow." Though we are loathe to stomp all over artistic evolution, please, for the love of all that is good and right in the world, bring back the original. Sunday Bloody Sunday is nearing retirement. It's definitely had a good run and made the end of many a show. May we suggest a return to "Waiting In Vain" or a Queen cover to replace it? Final Thoughts: Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for coming back home! -rachelsgroove December 31, 2004 Good show. Crowd was fun bu the venue definately sucked. I think these show would have definately been better in philly or at the Rechter theatre. -Jeffair728 January 1, 2005 Awesome show, Awesome venue, so-so crowd. The setlist was amazing, 22 songs, sweet encore - About Mr Brown was sick. New song Tell Me Stores was good and reworked One Shot was a lot better than the Hammerstein version. Didn't care that much for the new Tragedy, but maybe it will grow on me. -firedwarftj January 2, 2005 Great show, but the crowd was somewhat disappointing--I was behind a group of wasted college girls that kept screaming for Marc. -peewee2732 January 6, 2005 This show was a bit ridiculous it was one of the best shows by far. I would have killed to seen the dec 30th show. It was absurd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -oar_man5587 January 24, 2005 Terry was drunk -didya January 25, 2005 got to the venue at 4:30, waited outside for around three hours...but it was well worth it, 23 songs...simply undescribable...without a doubt the best show i've ever attended and what better place to have it than at their home...i would choose to see OAR over any band in America...they are simply undescribable -ObAmR February 1, 2005 WOW this was a great show, was well worth flying from MN to see them with my best friend I still get chills when i listen to this show, i mean you can't bet a 23 song set just amazing. -thebigWU February 14, 2005 Amazing show, incredible setlist. Being that 930 is only about an 1100 seat venue it makes the show all that much more personal. It doesn't get much better than this show! -930fan October 23, 2005 | |||||||||||||||
