Reviews Excellent show! Nice, small venue. Crowd was really into it. Amazing setlist! Mikel Paris was hanging in the crowd for the SOJA performance, so got to hang-out with him for a bit. The touring horn players made Anyway (also with SOJA horn players as well) amazing! Delicate Few was great! Thank you O.A.R.! Glad we made the drive from MN. I'll see you next week in Chicago! Cheers, Chad -whiteghostz July 28, 2011 I don't like to end a review with a complaint, so I will get it out of the way first: Something was wrong with the audio or maybe the acoustics in that venue are just HORRIBLE. Whenever Marc or any of the opening acts would speak into the microphone in between songs I could barely make out what they were saying at all. I was standing 3 people back front and center. And during the songs when someone should have been featured like a guitar solo or Jerry on his saxaphone...they just got drowned out. Did anyone else notice this or am I just being a picky asshole? OK, that being said it was a great setlist. And I was reminded again (as always) why I love being a fan or O.A.R. They gave a bunch of freebies to a man in the front in a wheelchair, and a boy who was about 8 or 9 years old. Marc also personally addressed that little boy from the stage several times. And the band allowed a guy from the crowd to come up and play acoustic guitar during "Hey Girl." What a memory that will be! The addition of the trumpet and the trombone were awesome. I love how the band is evolving. I loved some of the new intros to old songs, and the jam session in the middle of "Anyway" was IN-F**KING-CREDIBLE. Mr. Paris: Thanks for always getting the crowd pumped up from back on your part of the stage. And I love your back up vocals, especially on "This Town." Richard, thanks for telling the crowd surfing guy to get down. That's pretty dangerous and a distraction to others. You shredded my face off with your solos, as always. I can't wait to see you guys at Red Rocks! -ahubbard123 July 28, 2011 This show was great start to finish! Kelley James is great and though I never heard of Soja - I was moved enough to download some of their stuff later. OAR was rock solid as always. Cant believe they let a dude come up on stage and play with them during Hey Girl. I have seen a lot of OAR shows and never seen that! Music was great and the venue was pretty cool also. Wish I could do it all over again! -hawkeyeuofi2000 July 28, 2011 Real fun show! Had a good time hearing some old songs mixed with new King tracks. Despite it being a less than stellar venue, O.A.R. still made it worthwhile. -bloomy5837 August 3, 2011 | ||||||||||
