Reviews Amazing show, Jack's Mannequin was a good opener, got the crowd in a good mood, and when OAR came on, it seemed like a gentle breeze came over the crowd and pulled the 100 Degree + Humidity away from the crowd. -IVIystic July 16, 2006
great show! i was really hammered so i don't remember much, all i know is i went to piss during the end of hey girl. was really excited they opened with revisited, i wanted to hear that at the last show i went to. was kind of disappointed they didn't do so moved on, but glad they played untitled. oh, and the venue was great...i love chicago! -Pugsley July 16, 2006
Good show, a lot of different intros. NO WINDY CITY MAN -Kingofthething34 July 16, 2006
This was my third O.A.R. concert and it was the hands down best. Tried getting them to play Sail Away but they didnt. 52-50 in the encore was unbelivable. -Shegone24 July 16, 2006
Show was great..Wanted to hear "Tonight" though. Loved the freestyle in love and memories too. Great show from the best band. -Ontheblackrock July 16, 2006
Ovevrall good show, being from Cleveland I am always happy to drive up to Chicago and see O.A.R. put on a great show. Only dissapointing thing for me was how they kind of played into the younger crowd that was there. Im glad there is a new crop of O.A.R. fans starting but Love and Memories is not supposed to be the last and best known song of the night. Anyone else that was there agree? But other than that it was a solid show James was amazing and the end of untitled was pretty sweet as well. Thanks Chicago -McCarthy18225 July 16, 2006
i agree love and memories should not be the last song played, however well worth it to see james, king of the thing, and untitled... not to mention the awesome cover of watching the detectives... but after that amazing performance of 52-50, i could have cared less... overall awesome show. -live4themoment79 July 16, 2006
now i know what it's like to see o.a.r. play in a city they love and a city that loves them back. i'm not saying lville doesn't love o.a.r. but it was so much better seeing them in a bigger city and a city where they have more of a tradition.
i liked the venue. i liked the screens. the lake in the back was giving a nice breeze and nice navy pier fireworks were a grand touch.
other than no city on down, i thought the setlist was pretty awesome. that's the only disagreement i have. but a great mix of songs.
marc was into it i thought. i thought the whole band was loving it.
after the show, the crowd sucked. pretty confusing out there. but i liked the crowd during the show.

this was only my third show (my first two were in lville earlier this year) and i'm turning 16 next week so i have a lot of time to see more. anyway, i don't have as much experience going to shows as the older guys but this is my best evaluation. seeing o.a.r. is a good enough day for me so i may see through some of the negatives.
see you all

great show -storiesofanamericanidiot July 16, 2006
hey this concert was the best oar concert ive been too. it tops the dmb concert that i was in east troy. it just seemed like the crowd was into it and the band was into. i was reading reviews of the concert before this and people were disappointed. but even marc said that michigan doesnt know how to have real fun. -kpena07 July 17, 2006
Overall, just utterly amazing. Great opening by Jack's Mannequin although I really wanted to hear I'm Ready... oh well thats not who I paid to see.

O.A.R. was great. I agree that Love and Memories shouldn't have closed the concert but hearing everything else was amazing. I also loved the fact that tickets didn't get checked and I got a great spot right up front instead of the seating. That was my 5th show and I swear they have only been getting better. After meeting Marc and Richard in Madison earlier this year I went into the show with even greater respect for the band than I had before and you can truly see how much fun these guys have when they put on a show. -Grimmace19 July 17, 2006
i agree with McCarthy18225. i would have loved to hear older songs. other than that, chicago is always a great place to see concerts and party hard -spente July 17, 2006
it was the best one i'v been to and i loved the freestyle jest like ontheblackrock would haved like to haer tonight and also crowedmind. -ryry9339 July 17, 2006
I have to agree with everyone. It was an absolutely amazing show. The band was into it, so was the crowd. This was one of the best shows I have been to yet. It was great to hear a browad selection of the older combined with the new. I know that they have a whole new fan base after "Love and Memories" that they have to cater to. It was great to finally see James played live. Was hoping for Whose Chariot? but can't complain about the setlist they chose. All the freestyling that Marc did was great and absolutely made the show one of a kind. You guys sure know to take the heat of summer and make it truely a "Wonderful Day". -DestinationSTL July 18, 2006
My friends and I did an OAR double-header (Chicago then St. Louis the next day). And as awesome as this Chicago show was, it was nowhere close to as good as the St. Louis show. I loved finally hearing James and Untitled though. So if any of you guys see OAR going to the Fox Theatre again in St. Louis, take my word for it -- IT'S WELL WORTH THE 4-5 HR TRIP! -jbpwings July 19, 2006
The show was great.. i would have enjoyed city on down much more as a closer than Love and memories.. i agree love and memories should not have been closed with.. but the show was amazing. the picture marc took with that kids cell phone.. i found it on a site hte kid posted.. its amazing. o and the triangle solo :)

heres the link to the site where i found the picture that marc took with that kids phone

This concert was performed with a lot more energy then the past two chicago summer shows iv been to, im getting very sick and tired of people only cheering when the guitar rift of Love and Memories comes on, come on people there old music is a lot better an deeper

I dont know why everyone's hating on love and memories as a closer. at the very least, they didn't close with poker. i think it's pretty hard to complain with the new intro, king of the thing and an amazing 52-50. can't WAIT to hear the recording -jcadorin July 21, 2006
Great show, one of the best that ive been too. But i agree with alot of people, if u dont no there old stuff then dont go to the show, yea the new shit is good, but if ur there cuz u just heard love and memories on the radio, ur not a true fan. but all in all it was a great show. and i cant wait till the next one -SpooN3r July 24, 2006
ive been a fan of o.a.r. since i was in high school and i got ahold of the wanderer. since then ive been hooked! this show at the pavilion was a-maz-ing! i saw them recently at NIU earlier in the year, but marc was sick so it wasnt as bad ass as this one. for all the complaints: yeah they closed with love and memories. its what is hot right now to the new crowd. yeah it would be great for a closer like "city on down" or something we all know and love, but i think doing 'love and memories' was great because of all the new crop of fans who will soon get ahold of the past records and just rock it and love the music.
Awesome show! Love the band! Cant wait to see them in AZ with DMB! -livnlovnlife247 July 30, 2006
Kinda sad that half the people didn't know the words to delicate few. I was singing it on top of my lungs and people were giving me weird looks oh well they're all n00bs -chow August 2, 2006
great show...thats all i have to say -leggman67 October 19, 2006
Amazing show cant wait to see them again Jan. 19th its gonna be crazy! -SeanMac35 December 10, 2006
