Reviews i was front row and just to the right of center for the entire night. OAR kicked so much ass, and DMB right behind them easily made it one of the best nights ever. pretty solid set. i got a setlist after the show and there was actually 'About Mr. Brown' originally planned as the closer, guess the changed their minds last minute to Missing Pieces. regardless it was a kick-ass show. Mark's guitar strap, or somehting broke during the start of misisng pieces so he just went the whole song without it, it was some clever improv -ISU1648 July 25, 2005 OK set as you can see nothing special I really would have liked to see About Mr. Brown instead but i love missing pieces anyway. I waited for hours to get the front row of lawn and I have to say it was nice to see that many people enjoying O.A.R. Some DMB concerts I went to people starting chanting "DMB DMB" while O.A.R. was playing so it was a great change of pace to see a ton of people dancing and enjoying O.A.R. for what they are worth. -cityondown5 July 25, 2005 I personally loved this show. I didn't like Hey Girl that much as an opener. Risen was a fun song to hear, but I was really hoping Boyd would come out and play again. Lay Down was pretty expected. Nothing to call home about. Mr. Moon was great! And Danny Chaimson's stellar piano solo made the song. Now the best part of the show, Poker. If you read my review on Summerfest '05, you can see that I am sick of Poker. But what made this great was the fact that they had no vocal improv, not long jams, and the finished it in a mere 8 min. Black Rock is where I become a bit hypritical. I am normally not a fan of the songs that they feel they have to play at every single show, such as Delicate Few, Hey Girl, Poker, etc. But Black Rock, on the other hand, is a timeless song to me. Also, with the progression of the Long Day Intro (at New City last year, they played the chords for the Long Day Intro, they hadn't written lyrics) and the Blood Outro, simply stunning. Last but not least, Missing Pieces. This was one of the best songs to play when opening for DMB. MP is one of O.A.R.'s biggest jam songs, so I'm guessing that Jerry and Richard earned the band a bit of respect from the crowds. -dancing_nancies July 26, 2005 Overall i thought it was a pretty decent setlist. The crowd was pretty pumped for O.A.R. after all that had been going on that day with the weather. GREAT SHOW -littleo112233 July 26, 2005 This was the first time for me to see the DMB and second to see O A R. The weather was horrible and we missed the first couple of jams but I think it was worth the trip from Texas with my bro Gabe K to see both bands. They really jammed out on lay down. thanks guys Tomas o a R -tomas o a r November 24, 2005 | ||||||||||
