Hopin’ to find something better
At least better than what ya thought
So many aisles to wander down
So many choices you thought

But then a man come walking down the aisle
With a smile as wide the rain
But Mom she gotta run away once again
I'm stuck with the pain
Yeah-ra-ra-ra-ra-da

You ask yourself why you can't stay just five more minutes alone?
And walk away
You know it, Mom knows it, so what ya want?
She says, ‘One toy today,’ she said

Why only one or another or none at all?
How come every time that I trip, oh, I never fall?
Then a man, he come walkin’ down the aisle with a smile as wide the rain
But Mom she gotta run away once again, and I'm stuck here with the pain
Yeah-ra-ra-ra-ra-da

You ask yourself why you can't stay just five more minutes alone?
And walk away
You know it, Mom knows it, so what ya want?
She says, ‘One toy today.’

You ask yourself why you can't stay just five more minutes alone?
Walk away
You know it, Mom knows it, what ya want?
She says, ‘One toy today,’ she said

So many aisles to wander down
There's nothing that’s looking nice
How come every time that I look once, I’ve got to look twice?

But Mom, she's comin’ ‘round the bend
And I'm buying another toy
She said, ‘Son would you come along with me?’
‘No Ma!’ I'm hangin’ out with the boys
Yeah-ra-ra-ra-ra-da – ra-ra-da

You ask yourself why you can't stay just five more minutes alone?
And we can walk away
You know it, your mom knows it too, what ya want?
She’d say, ‘Just one toy today’

You ask yourself why you can't stay five more minutes alone?
We can walk away
You know it, Mom knows it too, ‘What do you want?’
She used to say, ‘My son, just one toy today’
Ra-da-ra-ra-da-da

Those were the best years
And I would like to trade it all back
Just one more day then I’ll let it slip away
One more time

But Ma gotta go away again.
